| Introduction | Hello, and thanks for visiting my blog. I'm Alan and I created this website to show off my literary works. I wrote my first short stories back in the early 1990's while I was between jobs (if you can call shovelling custard a job) but back then it took a lot of effort and money to get your works published - more money than a custard shoveller made. So, the stories went into a cupboard and remained there until I rediscovered then in June 2010. I updated the first of them, a story about a novel way of convincing young offenders to change their ways called Recidivist, and gave it to friends and family to review. Naturally, they all loved it. However, as a group they are not known for their impartiality. One friend suggested that I publish Recidivist and in the age of the internet I looked for the easiest way to do just that. My search led me to Smashwords, an ebook publishing house that met my requirements and much more. Why Jambalian, I hear you ask? Well, that is the name of the character I created for my twin 5-year-old daughters. It is a magical creature that comes to their rescue as they explore the universe in their sparkly spaceship. I hope you enjoy my work. |
