| Introduction | The European Association of Electrical Contractors – AIE – comprises 15 national associations representing 125,000 contractors, a workforce of nearly 1.200,000 and a turnover of Euro 137 billion. Monitoring the EU agenda/Directives relevant for the electrical sector, the AIE points out the key strategies and main priorities for the modern electrical contractor. With the increasing complexity of technical installations, the private consumer and house owners are becoming more and more dependent on the knowledge and creativity of the electrical contractor. He is an expert adviser who is able to explain to the client the possibilities and advantages of new technology in a technical and environmental way. | Interests | About CYE@ Euroskills Since 1992, this most appreciated and sector specific competition is held every two years for young electricians. Since 2014 CYE was integrated into the Euroskills competition with a first edition in Lille. Today, Sweden is the host country for the 2016 edition of the Electrical Installations Single Trade Competition that will be held from 1 till 3 December in Gothenburg. 17 Competitors will each be representing their own country, coming from several countries throughout Europe. Usually all finalists of a national competition will compete, benchmark and demonstrate their skills by carrying out a practical electrical and telecommunication installation. The aim of the competition is to demonstrate at a highly public frequented exhibition the advantages of high-quality professional training and to boost public recognition for the professional work of electricians, revealing the exceptional quality of training in the member countries of the AIE.
