When you've got water stuck in your ear, how do you get it out?

I would mix a 1:4 ratio of rubbing alcohol and warm water and use a syringe to drop the solution into my ear, where upon tilting my head, I would remove all excess water from my ear canal. Just kidding, I shook my damn head until I was cross eyed. If I was lucky, the water would eventually come out.
