| Introduction | Goals of CWG: •To shatter the glass ceiling. •To provide multi- and inter-disciplinary options for studying women and gender in cultural, historical, and contemporary contexts. •To highlight women's contributions to society and recognize the achievements and experiences of those who continue to be marginalized. •To promote successful career-education-home balance. •To support scholarly research by women and about women and gender issues. •To provide information on and encourage access to health care, including mental and reproductive health. •To recognize and support efforts to counteract gender bias in research and medical treatment. •To act as a resource for developing programs that address women's and gender issues. •To prevent domestic violence, sexual assault, and sexual harassment. •To advocate for parity in compensation, employment opportunities, political structure, and education. |
