| Introduction | I've worked in the book publishing industry for 15 years in nearly every job description short of press operator. I also have a strong interest librarianship, which led to my pursuit of a master's degree in library and information science at the University of Illinois through their distance learning program (LEEP). My current position as an acquisitions editor for a library science publisher is a happy combination of my experience and my recent studies. One topic of particular interest that I could not pursue through the LEEP program is book conservation. I may eventually pursue this interest formally, through a book arts or rare books program or conservation workshops. For now, I am doing independent research and study on the topic. This blog is a combination annotated bibliography and note-taking space, and a public record of my progress that others are welcome to comment on or contribute to. |
