| Introduction | In early 2007 I started taking walks around my East Austin neighborhood. I’d lived there well over a year, but outside of my own home, I felt detached from the physical place in which I lived. These walks were intended to help remedy that detachment. It was not uncommon to bring my camera along, and of the resulting images, those of the sidewalk were among my favorites. Since then I’ve expanded my radius, taking photos of sidewalks in other parts of Austin and other cities as well. |
