| Introduction | I realized at a young age I wanted to express myself with colors and shapes. Growing up in a home of artists, my house permeated with the odor of oil paint, I started my journey of following in the footsteps of my Father and brother. I now have been painting for many years, residing on Long Island, New York. The best thing I ever did was to join a local art club. This enabled me to "talk shop" and paint with fellow artists. (We are a unique bunch!). Now, about my artwork.... I'm a person of many moods. From time to time I paint local land and seascapes. I am drawn to abstracts using colors and shapes to express my opinions and emotions. Over the years I've used very strong colors, but seem to be mellowing a bit, I believe, in part to my current interest in Oriental art. To observe all the wonders of life around me, the simple things that are usually overlooked and then to express the essence of these subjects using quick spontaneous strokes, (as I call my dancing brush)is an exhilarating experience. Working full time and attending to other responsibilities I need to create everyday to keep me grounded. So sit back, relax and enjoy the dance. |
