IntroductionI am exploring how performance heightens philosophical connections between people. I founded Seen Performance (seenperformance.org) with David Morneau and Shana McKay Burns to help define this process through cross-disciplinary collaboration. While earning my MFA in Dance and Technology from The Ohio State University, I developed an approach to creating performance through methodologies borrowed from disciplines outside dance. Early in my training, I studied improvisation at Middlebury College with Penny Campbell, who practices it as a compositional form. This idea influenced me to think about dance beyond the immediate body, which has led directly to crafting audience design as part of my performances.

Favorite moviesozu, ozu, ozu, mikio naruse, "burmese harp", hayao miyazaki, wong kar wai, pedro almodovar... no i don't have any favorite filmmakers who are american. I don't bother with having favorite films because of the resulting emotional toil in the decision-making process. Films are important to me. Period.

Favorite booksIt's been a long time since I thought about this. Without giving it much thought: Vivian Sobchack's "The Address of the Eye", Thomas Hardy, D.H. Lawrence - after that I have to start remembering
