| Introduction | I have been playing chess since 1993. Just after the return of "dark" Fischer. What do I love most about this game? I love the competitive outlet that it provides, I love the History of the game, I love the classic games played by the all time greatest players, I love the Opening Theory, I love the chess endgame problems and I love Bughouse which is variant of chess! Based upon some fairly recent research I also love the fact that Chess can also help delay the onset of Alzheimers and other Brain wasting diseases. Use it or lose it!! Chess is a lot of fun, mentally stimulating, an inexpensive hobby and as healthy as any activity that engages the mind can be. |
