| Introduction | 3rd Time's the Charm! I'm a recent college grad with a compulsion to wander. Starting in January I'll be making my way to an Americorps job just outside of Cupcake, NY. Details are a bit sparse for the time being...so you'll just have to come back for them, won't you?! ------------------------------------------ A new chapter! I'll leave my old description from my Germany study abroad experience below. However, I am now headed towards Istanbul - to be an au pair. On one week's notice. I don't speak Turkish, but seem to have a wonderful family. Regardless, hilarity is sure to ensue...so stay tuned. ------------------------------------------- I decided to leave my little safety bubble (formally known as the USA) and come abroad. Looking back, I probably came out of pure stubbornness. Really. Math and Science were really hard for me, so I don't study them. German was equally a challenge, but for some reason I decided to embrace it and not run away. So now I'm a 16 hour plane ride away from home and stressed out of my mind. I've been reassured it gets better, but as of yet I'm just looking forward to sunshine or fluency in German. Preferably the latter. |
