The question she always asks hereself is how to translate the complexity of what she observes into paint and sometimes chalk: the tones, movement, space, skin tone, colour and especially light. Hanneke's art has an atmospheric depth which makes her works exude an air of calm and at the same time lends them an air of mystery." |
