Introduction Hope’s Daughter’s upcoming “When Babymamas Become Wives, The Good, The Bad & The Ugly” is a memoir of rich life lessons learned while on the bumpy, yet comical, road to self-identity and purpose. Navigating through the culture of hip-hop, a vivid tapestry of relationships & the advocacy of her autistic & nonverbal child, this “babymama” finds her way. After earning an undergraduate & graduate degree in just 3 ½ years, she becomes the 1st person in her family to graduate from college. She goes on to become a wife, social entrepreneur & employer. After gathering political support for her new school proposal, the universe throws a monkey wrench… or, two. Discussing poignant memories, both raw and candidly, with the reader in a conversational style, the tones of the book are both theoretical & whimsical, delivering an unprocessed truth. Simply, it is told in a refreshingly honest & humorous ‘friend in your head’ voice. In 2014, Hope’s Daughter self-published a YA paperback; 2021, she’s a doctoral candidate for a PhD in Public Policy.
Interests Inspiring and empowering others is Hope's Daughter's greatest interest outside of motherhood. For over 20 years, in both the nonprofit and for-profit sectors, with young people and adults she has in various roles aimed to showcase the human lived experience, create social change, and model hope. This blog is just one of her ways to do so. All writings on this blog are written by Hope's Daughter and copywritten under her s-corporation's DBA/publishing press.
