| Introduction | I am a nurse with an Associates Degree. I am taking classes towards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and this is why I am taking Government. While it would not have been a class I would have picked if given a choice, I do hope to learn more about our government from it. I have already taken my required Texas government class and while I can not claim that I enjoyed it, I have to admit that I did learn a lot from it and I found out some interesting things. I must confess to never being very politically active or even informed. I have voted in all presidential elections since I was old enough to vote but that is pretty much the extent of my political activities. According to the political ideology quiz, I am liberal. I know I do not agree with any one party but bits of both of them. I made a 79 on the civics quiz. I know that is not a stellar performance, but it was better than I expected. I got six correct on the current events quiz so I definitely need to start watching the news more often. Despite my lack of political knowledge, I do love my country and I consider myself lucky to live here. |
