| Introduction | For those of you that do not know me, my name is Amanda Hausmann. I am currently attending NYOS Charter School, but I also take classes at ACC for dual credit. One of which is a government class because it is a required class to graduate. I hope to learn a lot from this class so I can make an educated decision when I am old enough to vote. To be completely honest I am nowhere near being an expert with governmental issues and current events. Although my score on the civics exam was 63.64% and my score on current events was better than 60% of the public (7 correct.) I will be the first to tell you that looks can be deceiving and I am quite ignorant in this area. Similar to many people I know, I have inherited my political views from my parents. Unfortunately, even though my dad tries to get me to see both sides of things, I have become a social conservative (or so the political ideology quiz says.) From this class I hope to have a better understanding of what is going on around me and I hope to be more open-minded. |
