Introduction | I practice mainly in the Tibetan school of the Karma Kagyu lineage. Over the past fifteen years while still living in South Africa I taught and wrote on Buddhism and meditation in general, obviously with a leaning towards Vajrayãna. During nine years of that time I was also the southern African Buddhist representative on various forums and committees: National Religious Leader’s Forum; National Religious Association for Social Development; Southern African Faith Communities Environment Institute; Inter-Faith Action for Peace in Africa; Freedom Park Trust; Independent Forum for Religious Broadcasting; South African Broadcast Corporation: Religious Broadcast Panel. From 2000 to October 2010 I lived and worked/served at the Fo Guang Shan - Nan Hua Temple in Bronkhorstspruit in various capacities such as Dep Dir: Planning, Special Secretary to the Abbot, Temple Secretary, with my duties including publicity and promotion; attending to some of the English administration; organising of special events and occasional events; promotions at shopping malls, art exhibitions, etc. |
