| Introduction | My graduation was from Education Faculty, Department of Mental Retarded Child Teaching in 2006 from Anadolu University My university education was mainly based on; integration of retarded children to the public schools which are providing general education, education curriculum and the schools which are teaching retarded children based on their different needs. Additionally, I was trained for preparing individual education programs considering special needs and abilities of each student. In Turkey, teachers of special education are trained for every kind of handicapped children. For instance, I worked with children who have Down Syndrome, Autism and Learning Handicapped etc... In 2006, I started my professional career in a private special education school and worked there more than two years. During this period, I also delivered a couple of special trainings for the families who have retarded children. In 2008, I passed an exam which is held by the Ministry of Education. This allowed me to be able to work in a public school of special education in Bakirkoy, Istanbul. I am still working in that school whose name is Nefus Nakipoglu Education Center. bbijar@gmail.com |
