IntroductionAugust 12, 2011, at approximately 8 AM, the quiet, calm, peaceful little world that I (and my daughter) enjoyed so fully for more (or less, for my daughter) than 17 years came to an abrupt halt. After giving us each a kiss and saying his customary "Good-by" that morning before leaving for work, my husband (her dad) died suddenly of a Pulmonary Embolism. As an ER nurse, I was used to harnessing chaos into calm. But, the turmoil that ensued, in those bitter moments after the Paramedics attempted to revive him, caused an uproar in our world that I was not prepared to handle. As family, friends and spiritual support came to our aide, we very carefully began to pick up the pieces of our shattered world, one fragment at a time. God’s love, time and serious grief work, has brought us to the place where we now accept the “new normal” of our world. It is not a bad place to be, but it IS different. One of those changes is that I am now dating. And what an unexpected adventure dating has turned out to be! That is what this blog is about. A glimpse into the dating world of a 50-year-old widow in the 21st century is what I hope this blog will offer.
