| Introduction | I think I can represent you well because I have lived in Shetland all my life, and am familiar with the public sector and the services so crucial to our way of life. I have no personal or political agenda to push; I worked for 11 years for the Council and have always been involved in local organisations. I am currently Chairman of Shetland NHS Board and am well qualified to tread a difficult path which affects us all. I simply want to hear your views, and ensure we make wise decisions for Shetland, for now and for the future.Sustaining our current quality lifestyle is important to me as it will be to future generations.If you elect me as one of your three representatives I will work hard, always tell it as it is and strive to present opportunities for each individual living here to attain their aspirations as far as possible. |
| Interests | I am a married to Theo, have two grown up children - Michelle and Ellis, and two grandbairns - Scott (3) and Iona (1). I am a depute Lord Lieutenant, and part-time Chairwoman of NHS Shetland. I have worked in the oil industry, and in local government, so feel I have a unique perspective on how both public and private sectors can work together for Shetland's benefit. |
