IntroductionI have a passion for hospice nursing…it is not a job when you love whatever you do in life. Each patient, family member and care giver has a special place in my heart. The name Scotty comes from a patient that I grew very fond of over several months under my care. Although his memory began to fade, until his last few days of life he would greet me with a big smile and say “Scottie, I am so glad you are here.” One of my goals is educating others on the importance of end-of-life care, because no one should die in distress, pain or alone. InterestsFamily, church, community, volunteering, politics, history, oil painting, outdoors, nature, environment, pets: all dogs but particularly my 2 shelties, many cats and wildlife. My passion is ensuring that all patients are treated with dignity and respect, that each is able to have the highest quality of life they can achieve; especially at the end-of-life.
