Introduction I was first elected to the Assembly on May 1 2003. I was born in Cardiff and studied at the University of Wales, Bangor and the University of Sussex. I am a former head of public affairs for the BBC, and I lecture at Cardiff University Journalism School. I was co-founder of the Yes for Wales campaign. I joined the Welsh Assembly Government in 2007 as Deputy Minister for Social Justice and Public Service Delivery.
