1977 Re-union Reports

Introduction	In 1977, a group of 111 young people matriculated at Dundee High School. Some achieved academically and others slogged along, wishing the time away. Many played sport – rugby, hockey, netball, cricket, tennis and athletics. Some sang in the choir, played chess, belonged to SCA or CSV groups and debating society. We had a love/hate relationship with our teachers, who strived to prepare us for the big world that we would soon enter. And sure enough, the day came all too soon. With the exams behind us, we entered the school hall for the last time as students, and sat through our final speech day and prize giving. And as we walked out of those doors, we entered the world of freedom, of making lots of money, of adulthood.... but soon the truth hit us. We saw our boys go off to the military; friends went off to college and varsity; some went nursing; others moved to cities in search of work. Many scattered around the globe. Soon we began to lose contact with each other...... All too quickly, the years passed by. And so, Re-unions were arranged and old friendships re-established and by means of the internet, we can all be connected.
