| Introduction | Danielle M. Stern, Ph.D., is an Associate Professor of Communication at Christopher Newport University. Her research engages the role of intersectionality and social justice in transforming popular culture and pedagogy. She teaches courses in media studies, gender, and intersectionality. Her more than 20 scholarly articles have been published in Information, Communication & Society, Women’s Studies in Communication, Text and Performance Quarterly, The Communication Review, Sexuality & Culture, The Popular Culture Studies Journal, and Women & Language, as well as in various edited books. She is the 2015 recipient of the Ellis-Bochner Autoethnography and Personal Narrative Research Award. She is a co-founder of Bhav Brigade, a donation platform of inclusive, accessible, and philanthropic yoga, based in Norfolk, Virginia. |
