Introduction	Gil was born in PA, bicycled here in 1980 after a BS degree in Horticulture, stayed, worked on Farms, Nurseries, at the U of W Arboretum, and Seattle's Good Shepherd Center-23 years there. Saturated his brain with ornamentals as well as edibles, I experimented with growing over 5000 different plants with little or no water. This work was published in 3 books on design and xeriscaping (no water landscapes). After that 10 year stint Gil became increasingly interested in food production (his degree) and followed his bliss North to Snohomish in 2008. On this 7.6 acre parcel Gil is preparing for 5 acres in intensive production. Gil's hobbies are hiking, biking, playing with the kids, and in quieter moments getting out on the river in his canoe. With extended family, Gil Schieber is creating and offering the farmspace as a refuge and destination for any friends that may need some relief or want some plants, tools, food, shelter, direction, common hospitality. It is my wish to be the cause for happiness.
