Why do you think honeydew is the money melon?

Because it is green, tastes good, and incorporates two words that all good things contain, "honey" (as in "Honey Bunches of Oats"), and "dew" (as in the holy drink of the student, "Mountain Dew"). Green is also coincidentally the color of American currency, which may subliminally have something to do with that title of "money melon."
