IntroductionMy passion is making documentaries that capture the immeasurable capacity of the human spirit and the vulnerabilities of children living in poverty. Prior to beginning my film career, I was a television news reporter and a producer focusing on the coverage of the politics, economics, and culture of Latin America, Africa, and Eastern Europe. My inspiration for making the transition into documentary filmmaking came from a desire to tell stories of hope and courage that were not being told and provide a deeper understanding of some of the critical social issues confronting our world. Born in Hollywood, California, but raised in Miami Beach, Florida, my love of film was nurtured by my mother who took me to a movie almost every week from the age of four. I have a B.S. in Journalism and a B.A. in Political Science from Boston University. In 2005, I completed a documentary film program at the Maine International Television and Film Workshops. “Africa’s Daughters” is my second film.
