Introduction	I am a mom to two preschool-aged kiddos. I am passionate about the subject of nature deficit disorder and I lead a preschool nature club. Our mission is to play in and with nature: we use trees as balance beams, jump from boulders, smell flowers, pick up rocks and sticks, get wet and dirty and worn out. We may take 30 minutes to walk 300 feet, but we try to stop to look at and touch everything that catches their eyes. We do our best to allow free exploration free of too many "NOs." I have my degree in geology and am returning to school with the goal of opening a forest preschool. For now I am focusing on transforming my wonderful, weedy, wild yard into the perfect playspace for my children to get muddy, explore and have fun in nature.
