Introduction	I am a student at Austin Community College taking a Texas Government class. Although I would consider myself more of a Democrat than a Republican, I have to admit that I occasionally find myself listening to Rush Limbaugh on the radio. After declaring myself a History major I realized that my true passion was politics; politics and the way that history has made us who we are today. I believe that our political outlook must be constantly changing and evolving yet we must never fail to remember the political past. This blog got its name from the famous letter sent from William B. Travis at the Alamo in 1836. Travis writes, "I call on you in the name of Liberty, of patriotism & & everything dear to the American character, to come to our aid...I am deter mined to sustain myself as long as possible & die like a soldier who never forgets what is due to his own honor & that of his country -- Victory or Death" This letter, although written more than 170 years ago encompasses the political outlook of Texas today: "Liberty, patriotism, and everything dear to the American character." That's me, and this is my political blog.
