| Introduction | My occupation: I'm an Assistant Professor/ Faculty Fellow in the Asian/Pacific/American studies program in the Social and Cultural Analysis department at NYU. I teach classes in Race and Media, Asian American popular culture, and sound studies. My preoccupations: maintaining a fresh and fluid closet on a teacher's salary without skimming from my research budget and finding a way to wear high-heeled oxfords and slouchy (sometimes rolled up) trousers for almost every occasion. |
