Introduction Bob Goldstein has always loved to travel. A long-time resident of the Pacific Northwest, he has hiked, biked, cross-country skied, and kayaked extensively throughout the region and in Alaska. In 2007, he completed a solo self-supported bike trip from the Aland Islands, through Finland, Lapland and Arctic Norway to the Barents Sea. His lastest book, "Riding with Reindeer - A Bicycle Odyssey through Finland, Lapland and Arctic Norway", describes that journey and provides historical and cultural anecdotes about the regions he traveled through. He has also traveled in India, Nepal, Europe, New Zealand, Australia, Peru, Iceland, China, Vietnam and Bhutan. Bob's first book "The Gentleman From Finland, Adventures on the Trans-Siberian Express", received the Benjamin Franklin Award for best travel memoir in 2006. Bob is currently the Chief Financial Officer of the Kitsap Regional Library, based in Bremerton, WA. Besides writing and traveling, Bob is active in various civic affairs, serving as a member of the Sound Transit Citizen's Advisory Board. For the past ten years he has led trips for the National Outings Program of the Sierra Club.
