| Introduction | I've had Bipolar Disorder for as long as I can remember, but I didn't start treatment until about 10 years ago. Now I'm learning to separate myself from the disease and figuring out who I really am. For a long time I hated myself, but with the help of medication and a terrific therapist, I'm slowly learning to give myself a break, I'm also discovering that after a childhood spent in a chaotic home filled with a lot of screaming, yelling crying and sometimes some physical violence, I had to learn that expressing your emotions that way was inappropriate. Here are some of the things I know about the real me. I'm smart. funny,accomodating,liberal, & tolerant. I';m an atheist. I'm frightened of myself, I'm frightened for myself, I like the sound of my own laughter, I'm quirky, I'm addicted to desserts, I'm often sad because there's too much pain in the world in general and my world in particular,I'm generous. |
