IntroductionI became a professional artist at the age of fifteen when I was hired to paint watercolour portraits on an amusement park island in the Detroit River. My one of-a-kind oil and watercolor storytelling paintings and portraits have been called "Spirit Paintings" because of my technical ability to represent long gone, but not forgotten, loved ones as apparitions. As an award-winning photographic and fine art restoration artisan, I have shipped work to seventeen countries. Clients are professional photographers, framers, specialty clients and the general public. Artists seek my technical skills to reproduce their work in print and merchandise. I have taught high school and college fine art in both Canada and the U.S. Teaching is exhilarating. My work brings joy and contentment intensified by my love of history and genealogical research. The works brought to the Heirloom Art Studio are treasured images that tell heartfelt stories. As each is altered or restored they begin an exciting journey which is only surpassed by the emotions of the client when they see their final work of art. Here you will find poignant stories of images that Bring Back Memories of Another Time.
Favorite moviesTake me to a time, place or situation in which I would like to be or otherwise does not relate to my day to day life.
Favorite musicI hold a degree in Music with over seventeen years of study on the piano with guitar, flute, harp and hammer dulcimer now topping the list of current instruments in the house. Does marching in an internationally known, award-winning Drum Corps for four years count as an accomplishment? Obviously, I love all music....as long as you can tap your feet or hum the tune and doesn't revolve around three notes. Repetition doesn't count as music. That is just noise!
Favorite booksRomance and fantasy novels of course! Any period piece is the best where I can envision myself living in another place and time.
