| Introduction | I am a poet, writer, and teacher of poetry. I see this blog as an outpost for the new humanities and the arts. I was born in Lynn, Massachusetts. Credits include the 2008 Gival Press Poetry Award for Voyeur published in 2009; a first book of poems, The Apple in the Monkey Tree; chapbooks Great Grandfather, Family Secret, Rescue Lines, and Hunting and Pecking; poems in Rolling Stone, Poetry, Grand Street, Trespass, View from Here, Orion Headless, New Letters, Pank, Segue, Big Bridge, Pemmican, foam:e, E.ratio, War Literature and Art, and Confrontation; and essays in Folly Magazine, The International Journal of the Humanities, Journal of the Assembly for Expanded Perspectives on Learning, Reconfigurations: A Journal for Poetics Poetry / Literature and Culture, Fringe, Big Toe Review, and Journal of Ecocriticism. I presented my paper “Reading Wisdoms” at the Multidisciplinary Conference by International Journal of Arts and Sciences in Florence, Italy in June, 2012. The paper was published in New Writing: The International Journal for the Practice and Theory of Creative Writing, 2012. I taught writing at VCU and was director of the Writing Program at Bay Path College. |
