Introduction When we were young, we used to sit around a radio to listen to all the new songs and write down the lyrics and go about singing all day long. We had parties in each other's homes with friends and learned all the ballroom and new dances like jives and the cha cha cha. I now paint with watercolour and acrylics; I started with oil a long time ago, but found it took too long to dry. I take a sketch book everywhere we travel and urge my husband Roy to draw as well, together we have travelled the world a few times, and have been to at least 80 countries so far. Click on Roy's site to read all about his travel before we met, and our travels together the last 25 years. Also read my blog on my LIFE's JOURNEY starting in India in the 1940s, arriving at Gravesend in England in 1965... Interests World travel, Peoples of the world, Photography, Friends and family, Dinner parties, Theatres, Plays, Musical shows, Singing, songs, playing card games, writing, politics and the damaging effects of the European Unions' encroachment into British sovereignty and its taxpaying hard-working citizens' National Health Service and Social Services & Benefits.
Favorite Movies My mother was very keen on films and from the 1950s, we have seen all the Hollywood musicals, every Roger and Hammerstein production that came to the Indian cinemas. Recently my favourite films are Les Miserables & the Life of Pi for their inspiring story-lines, impressive scene-setting and appealing sensitivity.
Favorite Music I love listening to quiet classical music when I am writing, or romantic vocal songs that I can sing along when cooking or doing other housework. I used to love Doris Day's Annie Get your Gun, Carousel, Singing in the Rain, & all Fred Astaire's tap-dancing musical and all Gilbert & Sullivan's operatic songs. Love the music of operas, even though I didn't understand the words, I often hum along with the tunes or dance around with CDs.
Favorite Books I read all kinds of books, novels and detective stories. Have read many classics when studying for my B.A.English and French, so now stick to short stories and magazines, as well as How to... books for writing, computer and amusing anecdotes.

Why don't you ever wear a scarf? It doesn't need to be cold outside for your neck to feel naked.

Have you ever wondered why we never ask questions of our parents when they were alive and with us? Do you feel that perhaps we have absorbed everything we wish to know through our skin as occasional learning and therefore no need to ask obvious questions?
