Still Weighting...
My blogs
| Introduction | I’m one of the so called “big girls” which I’ve always been, I’ve had nearly thirty years to get used to that fact. And it’s a fact that is made more difficult by my surroundings. I am lucky(or not…) enough to live in a very active, very fit community in the mountains of Colorado. At 5’7” and nearly 210 pounds, I stand out here. And most people would even be surprised to know that I weigh that much. Luckily, I do carry my weight relatively well. I’ve got “curves” and a defined waist, and I do a lot. I hiked a couple of fourteeners(in Colorado, that’s what we call our peaks that are over 14,000 ft above sea level) this summer, and I ski and snowshoe all winter, so it’s not like I’m a fat, lazy bum. I just didn’t have the support/motivation/willpower to do anything about it…that’s changing now. This blog is a means of support as I take on this journey. And this journey isn’t about hitting a certain “goal” weight, or getting into a size four pants. It’s about how I feel. About myself, how I look, and how I feel on a daily basis. Of course I want to look good, but it’s more about being able to wake up every morning feeling great. |
