| Introduction | I teach creative nonfiction of many subgenres, including science writing, in a writing major at a small university in northeastern Ohio. Students get tired of me telling them, "That's an essay" or "That's a good line; write it down," but I get excited about all the potential essays just floating around out there, suspended like moisture before it's too heavy to fall as precipitation. I don't care if it's rain, snow, sleet, hail, or gropple: the point is, stories can come from anywhere, at any time if you're watching out for them. |
