| Introduction | Central to the work of the Germantown Poetry Festival is the belief that our voices, individual and collective, are among the most precious natural resources of the 21st century. We believe that amidst violence, alienation, and despair, poetry can offer its practitioners new horizons, self-definition, and a sense of kinship. Our monthly workshops for student poets and open mic readings for all ages culminate in a dynamic outdoor festival in April, which brings together locally- and nationally-known poets and spotlights the creative genius of Philly’s youth artists. |
