| Introduction | I have been painting for a couple decades, and a biologist for quite a bit longer. Those two passions are a nourishing combination that I first discovered while living in the Hudson River Valley of New York. Now I have returned to California, where I was born, to a region whose natural wonders are a stunning and continual inspiration. In 2018 I self-published Animals and Plants of Monterey Bay: Santa Cruz Shoreline. It is a color guide book that combines the love of exploring nature with watercolor painting and the ongoing joy of learning new things. |
