| Introduction | Having grown up spending weekends on the ocean and beaches of Mexico and stomping around the deserts and mountains of the US Southwest, language, culture and ecology have always played crucial roles in Matt's understanding of his place in the world. Intercontinental travel throughout his youth and extended stints in the mountains and jungles of Asia as a young adult, developed a keen sense of both the beauty, turmoil and fragility of the human balance. Matt makes his home in the small community of Lafayette, CO, with his wife and two children, and he attempts to fill his days with as many activities as humanly possible.
