Introduction	Now a 40 something, I'm overweight, balding, beer loving and prone to bouts of physical stupidity. My previous weekly physical activity of football was becoming more confined to getting splinters in my arse rather than starting every game and being neither old enough nor rich enough to take-up golf seriously, I needed to get a new sporting challenge: Having never run more than an organised 10 mile race I initially decided to complete 12 marathons in 12 months in 2012... All of them off-road. Since succeeding in that endeavour I decided to push on for the 100 trail marathon mark and build towards a 100 mile race... So far 2 attempts at that and 2 failures!
