Introduction | I'm a Fourth Year human biology major with interests varying from horse backing riding to photography to traveling. Oh, and a note on photography: I took all pictures that appear in my portion of the blog unless specifically noted otherwise. At UVa I'm involved in biology research (plant-parasite interaction through the Timko lab), community service through APO, music (I've done marching, concert, HOOps, and brass band), and Queer Student Union. On my own, I love to paint and work on photography. My plan is to go to grad school for genetic counseling, though that decision came from an amazing maze of twists and turns. I almost decided on plant research (actually I was certain that's what I wanted for over a year), but after taking my first genetics course, I was absolutely hooked. |

When your science teacher smashed a frozen rose with a hammer, did you warm the petals to bring them back to life?
Of course not. I redipped them in liquid nitrogen and then made them into a shining mobile.
