| Introduction | I'm an eccentric gay man living in Asheville, North Carolina. I have to have as much beauty, music, and laughter in my life as I can get. I've also always been inquisitive and spiritual by nature, and at times have found myself going down some pretty strange paths, one of which was converting to the Russian Orthodox Church. Being gay, that was a terrible contradiction wasn't it? I did the monastery thing at one time, and came close to becoming a monk. When it came down to it though, I just couldn't. I left the monastery; actually, I snuck out in the middle of the night, hiked to the nearest highway, and hitchhiked back to Asheville. That's an adventure I'll never forget.
