Introduction | Hi, I am Michelle Malcher and I am a security architect and former DBA. It sounds like an addiction, because maybe it is. Transitioning from DBA to focus on security has been an opportunity to continue to be a guardian of the data and use my insight of database technologies to understand the risks. This blog has some quick tips, things I have learned as a DBA and possibly some deep thoughts here and there? OK, maybe not the deep thoughts. I obviously have some fun with my job and enjoy what I do because there is always a new challenge, new things to learn and ways to provide database services and more secure environments. I am involved in the user community, Independent Oracle User Group (IOUG). The IOUG community is another great way to learn from experts and have a voice back to Oracle. Learning best practices from other Oracle technology professionals has definitely helped me in my career and has kept me excited about being a database technologist. |
