| Introduction | Before I ever got interested in plants, I was an English major, writing papers and reading books late into the night. It's funny how things come back around in life. I abandonned academia and entered the nursery business because I hated being cooped up inside doing paperwork. I discovered a love of nature and the outdoors. I needed to feel the sun on my face and my muscles weary with the exertion of hard work. Now I find myself returning to my earlier roots, re-discovering the pleasure of writing and interpreting my experiences. Maybe one day I can be the Hemingway of the Horticulture business? Until then.
