| Introduction | I've been around SharePoint since before it was called SharePoint, creating intranet solutions since 1995 with a product called FrontPage 1.0 then owned by Vermeer Inc. In 1996 FrontPage was purchased by Microsoft for their soon to be arsenal of SharePoint products such as Microsoft Dashboard, SharePoint Team Services, Portal 2003, MOSS 2007 and SharePoint 2010. I've seen the best...... and the worst of it, and for my part in the history of this awesome tool, I've seen it become a beast that sucks up IT budgets, developer time, and becomes something it was never intended to become. I've been around long enough to know when it's all "bling" and when it's good, simple, and productive. I'm here to tell you, unless you get back to basics and refocus your SharePoint deployment, you're in for a rough ride my friend. But it doesn't have to be that way. Since I am a SharePoint Administrator for hire, you can contact me about availability, with questions, or about your project. I work remotely, so please be aware that I don't travel. Usually this isn't a problem since what I do is dependent upon hardware and software..... and not a chair. |
