| Introduction | Hi, my name is Michael Kaas and I'm currently a graduate student at Brooklyn College. I'm studying to become a High School Earth Science Teacher and this blog is related to a class I'm taking, titled, "Writing across the Curriculum." I'm currently in the process of making a career change. For the last 30 years I've worked as a TV News producer. For most of that time I worked for NBC News and CBS News, producing stories for their national morning news shows. I've produced tape stories on a variety of subjects including human interest stories, celebrity profiles, personal finance, politics, science ande medical stories, and hard news stories. After 30 years of having fun making morning TV, I suddenly felt called to become a teacher. With the help of brooklyn college I'm now preparing to become an high school earth science teacher, and its actually quite exciting. The classes I've taken so far at brooklyn college have been great. IOn a more personal note, I'm happily married and I have two young daughters. We live in Prospect Heights in Brooklyn, right across from the Brooklyn Museum and the entrance to the Botanic Garden.
