| Introduction | The inspiration for my professional career began in second grade when I arrived home from a year-long backpacking trip around the world. I was only seven at the time, but I realized then that I needed to let others know about the diversity of the world and its people. I have been working toward that goal ever since, and my journey has taken me to careers in teaching and travel journalism, providing me the opportunity to share with others what I have learned about our global village. |
