| Interests | “Painting to me is like creating Poetry on Canvas.” I paint from the heart of light and inspiration allowing the viewers to respond to the piece as it resonates with each individual. I currently paint with oils using the various palette knives for energy and texture. Painting 17 years, I have always been a creative. I cannot recall a time that I was not drawing, sketching, writing poetry and designing. Painting was a dream to finally realize, starting with watercolors after a successful career at HP. Next, I delved into oils on my first plein air workshop in rural France in Autumn 2008. The open air and fresh light is the best to learn and then return to my studio. I especially enjoy traveling to coastal areas. The oceans vary in color, pattern, drama and provide endless material for inspiration in my work. My faith is strong in my intuition and imagination. Combining the passion to paint and being one with the outdoors, plein air is a perfect compliment. I have lived most of my adult life on one coast or another. My easel travels with me along with sketch pad, diary and of course with camera. With a B.A. Design/Layout (Advertising) and a minor in Photography, I have come to believe that “Nature is all I really need for most inspiration. “Stay Fresh….try something New!” Vicki P. | Favorite Movies | Anything that invokes the mind actively.....not brainlessly. Not a heavy body count pic unless its a portrait of an historical war. |
| Favorite Music | Music choice depends on the mood. Jazz, old, new, acoustical, Botti, Braun, Brazilian, to start. Folk with great lyrics Patty Griffin, Mindy Smith, Kris Delmhorst, pick it up with One Republic and friends, exercise to Moby and some Groove Amada, Clean to Vince Gill and George Straight, Paint to Motown, Luther and R&B, Sunday morning is Baroque. So....guess lots of types of music. |
