About me

Introduction I'm more convinced now than ever before that the great things to which we all aspire exist almost exclusively in the seemingly mundane, seemingly ordinary moments of life. God in the small things. One of my mentors at DePauw University, Dr. Russell Compton, never got his news from the “mainstream media.” He read The Sun and other magazines and kept an ear close to the ground in order to sense what life and hope were doing in the world. This blog is about filling our minds and beings with the big and small stories and images of hope. To be saturated by them, in no small part as an effort to counteract the omnipresence of so much fear-based media. Is “the world” a safe place for us and our loved ones? A loving place? A hopeful place? Sly news networks have been feeding us a skewed answer for some time. But, collectively, we know better. So please share. My name is Brad Schweers. I live in Atlanta, love sports, gardening, woodworking, great food and great beer, and I love my friends and my family.
