| Introduction | A T Beaune comes to the medium of film through a career in concert and stage performance—and, before all that, a high school gig as a cinema usher. As an actor A T Beaune is best known for his supporting role as a British tea merchant in Chunyang Lin’s Netflix series ‘Gold Leaf.’ Works he has created and directed include: ‘Melodia: a short film in rondo form’ made in collaboration with Laticia Fan of f/Lash Productions; the award-winning short comedy ‘Shoe Story’; ‘Flight 109: a short travelogue for stage’ based on the music of Sandra Tavali; ‘Taiwan Photowalk: a musical story in still images’ based on the music of Modest Mussorgsky; and ‘1001 Nights: The Radio Play’ for ICRT, a dramatic treatment of the classic tale of Shahrazad. A collection of his short works, lyric poems, and essays, ‘1001 Nights & Other Short Stories,’ is stocked by major booksellers. An artist of Burgundian Gothic and American Creole heritage, A T Beaune now makes his home in Taiwan. About his early experience as a cinema usher, he offers this insider observation: ‘Saturday night crowds are like no other.’ |
