| Introduction | I am a publishers' representative with Opal Booz and Associates and serve schools in the ESC Region 12 area. I am former classroom teacher and retired librarian with 30 years in the education field. One of the best educational experiences I've had was when I served as a Teacher Consultant for the Texas Alliance for Geographic Education and the National Geographic Society. I am passionate about reading and am a firm believer in lifelong learning. As Thomas Jefferson said in a letter to John Adams, "I cannot live without books." |
| Interests | Reading, Writing, Gardening, Cooking, hanging with friends and family, and traveling. |
| Favorite movies | Gone with the Wind, anything Bette Davis, and 84 Charing Cross Road. |
| Favorite music | Pretty eclectic---"Oldie Goldies" from the 50s through the 70s, piano instrumentals, Blues, Rock-a-Billy, and New Age. |
| Favorite books | Absolutely no way to put them down. My favorites are my favorites for different reasons but if I had to generalize, the fiction books that "speak" to me are the ones whose characters are strong women dealing with change they may or may not have initiated. I love history and biographies and of course, the "Little House" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder and Maud Hart Lovelace's biographical "Betsy-Tacy" series from my childhood. |
